One of the benefits of movng back to NJ is its close proximity to 2 major cities. We currently live in a suburb of Philadelphia, and although I love Philadelphia, especially for its rich American History, I am quite partial to my favorite city which is only 2 hours away. New York City - The Big Apple - The City that Never Sleeps...NYC! It's an amazing city and an amazing experience to visit.
The Princess turned 8 over the weekend, and for her birthday, we celebrated with a trip to New York City to visit The American Girl Place. This place was incredible! Right on 5th Avenue with all of the other fantastic shopping in NYC, AG Place is a little girl's dream come true. For her birthday, she received the Chrissa doll that she has been asking for since she came out in January. Her grandparents came over on Friday night and surprised her with the doll. She was very excited! She even slept with her doll that night, and hasn't put her down since!
The next morning, myself, The Princess, Miss M, my stepmom, my future sister in law K and her daughter J, who also happens to be The Princess' best friend, as well as the girls' dolls Chrissa and Kit, took a bus ride into Manhattan for a day in the city. We all had a blast. The American Girl Place has 3 floors full of dolls and accessories! There's a doll hair salon, as well as a photo studio. The doll hospital is there, too. We had lunch at the cafe', and the food was delicious.
We walked around the city, visiting Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and the surrounding area. We even found the Yankees Clubhouse store! I hadn't been to the city in so many years, it was fantastic to visit with my girls. We all had a great time. The Princess loved the city, and can't wait to go back again! I took tons of pictures, but it would take all day to post them all! I created a slideshow for you. Please enjoy!

Oh my she looks just like you. Mine will be 8 on Thursday. My oldest and i went to NYC two summers ago and had a blast. Best time ever. You are blessed to live so close...we went to the AG store too. It was a blast! Great slideshow.
Hi Jodi
Your slideshow from NYC is great. I loved seeing you all having a fun time. The American Girls Place looks like every little girls dream. I know I would have loved it there as a child and would probably still love it now. The doll your daughter is holding looks just like her. Glad she enjoyed her special day.
